WESLEY 12 STEP FELLOWSHIP

The Wesley 12 Step Fellowship will meet again this semester for those who are members of AA, NA, CMA, SLA, OA, DA, AL-ANON, ACOA, or other Twelve Step program. The group is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and to help others recover. The only requirement is a desire for recovery. There are no dues or fees; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.  The group is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes.  Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities. What you see here, what you hear here, whom you see here, stays here.  Anyone interested in attending should email wesley12stepfellowship@gmail.com for the location and time of the meeting.

CONSORTIUM J-TERM COURSE OFFERING

Emerging Religious Leaders (ERL): Christian and Jewish Seminarians Study and Dialogue Program, January 11 - 15, 2015. Consider applying for this select 3 credit course co-sponsored by the Washington Theological Consortium and the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies! This intensive course will raise up the commonalities of our traditions, but more importantly it will focus on the particular ways our respective communities read, interpret and embody their traditions. The participants will have an opportunity not only to listen to brief lectures throughout the five days, but also to engage in small group study of sacred texts.  Jewish and Christian seminarians will also have ample opportunity to get to know one another, and we hope they will develop lasting relationships that will go beyond their five days together.  We want to promote rigorous interreligious learning as well as interreligious friendship. Selected participants will have room and board covered at the Pearlstone Conference and Retreat Center in Reistertown, MD. Participants will be responsible for paying tuition costs. There are no additional scholarship funds set aside at Wesley for this purpose. You must be available to stay in residence for the duration of the week.

To apply:

·         Write a paragraph (no more than 1 double spaced page) describing your interest in the program and relevant experience that has prepared you for this study, what contribution your presence would make, and how participation would advance your educational/professional goals.

·         Indicate the number of academic credits you will have completed at Wesley by the end of the 2014 fall semester.

·         Identify your approximate academic GPA.

Send to: Dr. Michael Koppel, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (mkoppel@wesleyseminary.edu) by Wednesday, October 1.  Email Subject Line should read:Consortium J-term Course.
