Summer Term 2009

Pre-course advance assignments and reading are required for many summer term courses. Please see the Summer 2009 Course List below for booklists and pre-course assignments.

Registration

Registration processing begins on April 13, 2009. Students currently enrolled at Wesley Theological Seminary must register for Summer Term using WesleyWeb. New students are asked to complete the 2009 Summer Registration Form, attach any necessary documentation/applicable fees and mail the materials to:

Credit Type Change Policy

  • For a 1 week class - students have until the end of the first day of class to change registration type (P/F or Credit)
  • For a 2 week class - students have until the end of the second day of class to change registration type (P/F or Credit)
  • For the 6 week class - students have until the end of the first week to change registration type (P/F or Credit)

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing two weeks prior to the beginning of the course to receive a full refund of tuition charges. Students canceling after the registration deadline through the first day of class will be charged a $100.00 cancellation fee and will receive a full refund of the tuition charges. Cancellation following the first day of class will be charged the full tuition and payment is expected. Students who need to cancel their registration should download the Registration form and return it to the Registrar's Office requesting to drop the course within the time line above. Non-attendance does not constitute a cancellation.

Finances

Tuition invoices are due the first day of class. Tuition rates vary by course and type of credit being pursued. 2009 rates have been approved. Current tuition rates are:

  • $ 475.00 per credit for academic credit
  • $ 238.00 per credit for audit
  • $ 190.00 CEU* for Continuing Education
  • $ 40.00 non-refundable fee for first time students only

* CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. CEU registration is available for ordained clergy, diaconal ministers, or full-time lay professional employees of any denomination.

Housing

Dormitory housing is available on a limited basis at Wesley Theological Seminary. The 2009 housing rates are not confirmed at this time, but are projected at:

  • $250.00 per week for a double occupancy
  • $300.00 per week for a single occupancy

To reserve housing for the summer term, please complete the summer housing form and submit it electronically to the housing office. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail. For questions about housing, please contact the Housing Office.

Reflect on the authors' ideas concerning the components of deeper living. What practices or postures create openings and possibilities for deeper living? What is each author saying about authenticity of the self, about authenticity in pastoral leadership, about authenticity in community life? Reflecting on your own experience, how have you experienced these practices and postures as strengths and as challenges in family life; congregational life; in personal spiritual practice. What effect do you see that this personal experience has/may have on your own pastoral presence?
