Rev. Kelly Grimes (D.Min.)
The Wesley D.Min. expanded my ideas of the impact of the Wesleyan tradition on the world. Being in the first Cambridge cohort in the UK gave me the opportunity to learn from Wesleyan leaders from around the world, hear from my cohort classmates about what ministries are impactful for their context, see our similarities and see our unique ministry experiences, and learn new ways to engage in my local community from this global perspective. It has caused me to seek out more ways to be community-minded in ministry. The Wesley Doctor of Ministry has impacted me personally in seeking deeper ways of connecting with God as I learned new worship styles, learned more about John Wesley’s journey and has broadened my relationships with the global Wesleyan family.
After graduation, I look to continue to reach out to our global Wesleyan family and to the global church to better our local community. In addition, I hope to continue to find ways to help our clergy persons continue the Wesleyan way of self-care through Sabbath.
