Course of Study Weekend Program in Washington, D.C.

COS at dupont Circle The Weekend Course of Study program was developed to augment the regular summer program held at Wesley Theological Seminary each July for the purpose of helping part-time local pastors complete their required studies.

Currently, the Weekend Course of Study courses are being offered in a hybrid format; first half on-line via Blackboard and one weekend in residence on campus. The second weekend will be held on the main campus of Wesley Theological Seminary beginning at 1pm on Friday and ending at 1pm on Saturday. Each course requires participation in all 20 hours of instruction both online and in person. Student must be able to access Blackboard and have the proper electronic equipment to participate in the hybrid sessions.

Program Information

Weekend Course of Study in Washington, DC is divided up into three sessions; Fall, Winter and Spring. Currently, we are running the Weekend program in a hybrid format; half on-line and half in the classroom. The hybrid courses require only one trip to Washington, DC.

Generally, Wesley Theological Seminary offers all 20 course in one academic year split between the UNY and Washington DC schools. Students should expect to complete the Course of Study curriculum in five years taking four courses annually. Student may attend both the Weekend program and the July program. Fulltime pastors are required to complete fours courses a year while part-time pastors must complete two courses per year. You are free to complete more tan this is time and scheduling allows.

Fees

Registration fee is $75 per course, non-refundable payable with the registration form.
Tuition Rate: $350 per course

A cancellation fee $100 is assessed if students withdraw from class within two weeks of the start of class or for no shows.

Housing Information

Housing:

Wesley Theological Seminary uses the Chevy Chase Courtyard Marriott located less than two miles from the seminary for off campus housing during the weekend COS sessions.

Currently, we are asking student to make their own arrangements for housing. You will find be sent a listing of nearby hotels with your course confirmation.

Public transportation is available from the hotel via metro and AU shuttle or Metro bus which drops you right in front of the seminary. You will find directions to the hotel here.

Limited housing is also available on campus for the Weekend Course of Study program. Students are responsible for making these arrangements directly with the housing office. To request on campus housing, please complete the Guest Housing Form. You may also opt to stay in one of the many area hotels or Air BnB accommodations near by.
