Course of Study School

The Course of Study School  is an experiential year round learning process for licensed local pastors in the United Methodist Church. Course of Study is managed directly by the General Board of Higher Education in Nashville, TN.

Wesley Theological Seminary is the Regional School for the Northeast Jurisdiction.  We administrate programs on our campus in Washington DC as well as satellite programs in Philadelphia and the New England Annual Conference.

Full-time Local Pastors

• Should register for the July Intensive Program. All 20 courses are offered during the this program.
• You may take as many as four courses over four weeks, or two courses in two weeks.
• We offer housing, a meal plan and access to the historic site in downtown Washington, DC during non-class hours.
• During July we worship every class day. Enjoy our retreat like setting and connect with other local pastors.

Part-time Local Pastors

• Part-time local pastors may pick up single courses year round in our Weekend Course of Study.
• Courses are offered over two weekends (Friday 1pm - Saturday 1pm) in two consecutive months to allow students to be home to preach.
