At the intersection of faith, politics and community engagement

Wesley Downtown (home of the Institute for Community Engagement) is located in the heart of downtown Washington, DC on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and 9th Street Northwest at 900 Massachusetts Avenue NW (on the basement level of Mount Vernon Place UMC).

This educational center is across the street from the DC Marriott Marquis hotel, steps from the Convention Center, and blocks from the National Mall, the Smithsonian, the Verizon Center, and Chinatown is easily accessible by metro via the Metro Center, Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center, and Gallery Place/Chinatown metro stations. For more information, you can visit the site of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website.MVSEntrance

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

Metro:
The closest metro stations are Mt. Vernon Square-Convention Center (yellow/green lines) and Gallery Place-Chinatown (red line).  Enter the building from the Massachusetts Ave. Entrance.

Parking Garages:
Limited parking may be found along Massachusetts Avenue and K Streets depending upon the day and time. Depending on events in and around our building, parking may also be available beneath Wesley Downtown in the LAZ Parking Garage at 901 K St. NW. The LAZ parking garage can be accessed on the block of 10th Street between Mass Avenue and K Street. There is a parking rate of $11 per hour or $19 for the entire day. Wesley is unable to secure free spaces for classes, visits, and events during the day at this garage. Wesley Downtown can be accessed from the garage elevators by pressing the 1R level, making a right off the elevators and pressing the intercom next to the door labeled Mount Vernon Place UMC.

Metered Parking:
Metered parking is available in limited quantity around the immediate vicinity with most meters having a one-hour or two-hour limit. 

Handicap Accessibility:
Wesley Downtown is handicap accessible both through the main glass atrium on Massachusetts Avenue NW and from the LAZ parking garage located at 901 K St. NW located just under the building. Accessibility from the LAZ garage elevators is convenient by pressing the 1R level, making a right off the elevators and pressing the intercom next to the door labeled Mount Vernon Place UMC.
