Lead in These Times ~ Joshua 1.5b-6

As I consider the theme “Lead in These Times” I ask myself, “What are these times?” Are they good? Are they bad? Are they challenging? Are they sad? Are up or down or sideways? The answer I believe is “Yes.” These times are good and bad and challenging and sad and up and down and sideways and even more. So, what does one do to lead in these times? In these many different times? I believe we can lead in these times successfully by asking God to address all things of our heart and to make our heart right. Yes, make our heart right with God.

A Prayer to Lead in These Times (Joshua 1.5b-6)

God search my heart. Help me to recognize anything that separates me from you. I desire a heart that seeks after you for I know if my heart seeks after you everything else will follow. Grant me, God, according to your grace, strength and courage to lead in these times. Whether we consider these times challenging or cheerful, I plead you God, grant me strength and courage. Just as you granted Joshua so that he could lead God’s people into the promise land, grant me strength and courage to do your will your way. May you receive all glory and all honor.

Amen.
